What is MAPQT?

This program is designed as an alternative teacher training track for those who desire to become a classroom instructor. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree, pass CORE (or 21 or higher on ACT) and Praxis Subject Assessment (formerly Praxis II) in specific subject areas.
What’s included in the training?
During the ninety clock-hour workshops, participants will receive training from national board-certified teachers in skills essential for being successful in the classroom. Participants will be required to complete a portfolio, which will be beneficial to them as they seek employment.
Workshop topics include:
- Effective Teaching Strategies
- State Curriculum Frameworks
- Planning and Instruction
- Classroom Management Skills
- Use of Technology in Instruction
- Emphasis on Special Education
